What we have built in

These measures are part of every page on the site.

Getting around

  • Keyboard access and visible focus

Every link, button, menu and form field works with a keyboard alone. The item in focus always shows a thick outline, in yellow on dark backgrounds.

  • Skip link

The first item on every page is a “Skip to main content” link that jumps past the header and menu.

  • Menus that open and close predictably

Header menus, including Services, open with a button that says whether it is open. Escape closes a menu and returns you to its button, and a menu also closes when you click or move focus away from it.

  • Headings and landmarks

Each page has one main heading and a logical heading order. Header, main menu, breadcrumb, main content and footer are marked as landmarks, and each section is named by its heading.

  • Jump links on long pages

Long pages, like this one, start with an “On this page” list that links to each section.

Seeing and reading

  • Color contrast

Body text and links meet a contrast ratio of at least 4.5 to 1 against their background. Color is never the only way we show meaning.

  • Reflow and zoom

Pages fit a 320 pixel wide screen, or 400% zoom, without scrolling sideways. Text can be resized without losing content.

  • Drawings and the map

The line drawings are decorative and hidden from screen readers, because the text beside them says the same thing. The corridor map on the home page is hidden too, and the same cities are listed as text links, each with its own service area page.

Forms, touch and browsers

  • Labelled forms with error summaries

Every form field has a visible label, and required fields say “required” in text. If something is missing, a list of the problems appears at the top of the form and takes focus, and each field explains what to fix.

  • Large touch targets

Links in menus and lists are at least 44 pixels tall so they are easy to tap.

  • Works without JavaScript

Pages and all their content load with JavaScript turned off, and the header menus become plain lists of links.

Motion and animation

The site uses light motion to show how a page is organized. It is always optional: everything works, and reads the same, with motion turned off.

What moves

  • Content that settles into place as you scrollText fades in and slides a short distance, and line drawings draw themselves. On long pages, a thin bar at the top fills as you read. These effects are tied to your scrolling, so they only move when you do.
  • The corridor map on the home pageIts roads and cities draw in once when the page loads and finish in about 3 seconds. It does not repeat.
  • Menus, answers and page changesMenus slide open, answers to questions fade in, and pages crossfade when you move between them. Each takes less than half a second.
  • The moving list of citiesWhere our cities scroll sideways in a band, a Pause button sits next to them. The band also stops while your pointer is over it or keyboard focus is inside it.

What we never do

  • No video or sound plays on its own.
  • Nothing flashes, and nothing blinks more than three times a second.
  • Words and links are never hidden while waiting for an animation. If your browser does not support an effect, or JavaScript is off, you see the finished page.

If your device asks for reduced motion

All of the animations and transitions above are switched off, including smooth scrolling and the page crossfade. The list of cities stays still as a plain list, so it needs no Pause button. Every page appears complete and still.

Turn animation off

Reduced motion is a setting on your device, not on this site. Once it is on, this site and many others follow it.

  • Windows 11Open Settings, choose Accessibility, then Visual effects, and turn off Animation effects.
  • macOSOpen System Settings, choose Accessibility, then Display, and turn on Reduce motion.
  • iPhone and iPadOpen Settings, choose Accessibility, then Motion, and turn on Reduce Motion.
  • AndroidOpen Settings, choose Accessibility, and turn on Remove animations. On some phones it is under Color and motion.

Common questions

How do I stop the animations?

Turn on reduced motion in your device settings (see Turn animation off). The site then shows every page still and complete. The moving list of cities also has its own Pause button.

Can I get information from this site in another format?

Yes. Email admin@adioramanagement.com and tell us what you need and how you would like to receive it. We aim to reply within 1 to 2 business days.

Does the site work without JavaScript?

Pages, menus and all their content do. The contact and property forms need JavaScript to check and send your entries, so if it is off, email admin@adioramanagement.com instead.

Do the drawings show anything I would miss?

No. They are decorative, so screen readers skip them, and the text next to each one carries the same information.

Can I zoom in or make the text bigger?

Yes. Pages reflow up to 400% zoom without scrolling sideways, and text can be resized without losing content.
